Biodynamics and the Alchemical Worldview
FRIDAY JANUARY 11, 2019, 9 AM – 5 PM
Yokayo Ranch, 800 Hensley Creek Rd, Ukiah
“The plant shoot has its head which is a root.”
This sentence could come from the Agriculture Course by Rudolf Steiner, but is actually from Text VI of the Generation of Elements (1658) by the alchemical doctor Paracelsus. Many of the fundamental ideas in Biodynamics can be found in the alchemical works of Paracelsus and Basil Valentine. This conference will trace some of these alchemical linkages to such things as the agricultural individuality, the BD preparations and the use of agricultural astronomy in the work on the land. A final theme will illustrate how alchemical ideas merge with contemporary developments in plant science that can serve as the basis for future research linking Biodynamics and the medical work.
- Biodynamic preparations as alchemical “spagyrics”
- Agricultural individuality as alchemical “archeus” principle
- Stella Natura calendar as the alchemical “iliaster”
- Anthroposophical medicines as four elements plus three processes
