Magical Will: The Art & Science of Initiation

Rudolf Steiner has left many indications about the necessity for contemporary humans to take up the work of initiation consciously. This work is distinct from the initiation processes of the past. It entails a shifting of the will from a consciousness of execution to a consciousness of intent. In the language of esotericism this is a magical transformation. This workshop will explore through lecture presentations, social experiments and artistic activities the levels of the will that make such a transformation necessary but difficult in contemporary society and the levels of the will that make such a transformation possible in contemporary life.

Topics will include: Temple Sleep as a principle of initiation; Sacred Place – Fields of Geometry; Metanoia and the Will; Rosicrucian Intitiation and the Substance/spirit Polarity; Science and Spiritual Science; The Role of Sleep in the Modern Mysteries.

Please bring a glue stick, a spiral sketchbook (9×12 approx.) and four or five picture magazines such as National Geographic as source material for collage.
